本片描述一對香港基督教徒男女朋友林頌偉、楊若娜，在婚前意外懷孕，頌偉因為在教會任事，因此要求女友墮胎，以免招人口舌。婚後多年，若娜再次懷孕，但胎兒卻患有先天無腦症，儘管醫生建議終止懷孕，頌偉仍要求若娜生下胎兒。導演採用平行剪接，對照現在與過去，以女性／母親的角度，對於男主角與其家人的盲目信仰、教會的同儕壓力提出批判。


This is a story about a pair of Christian couple in Hong Kong and their two pregnancies, one before their marriage and one after. Both times, something was wrong and they needed to make decisions, and it all depended on whether they were more afraid of god, or of human beings.
