What Happens in Your Brain If You See a German Word Like…?

德語是很有彈性的語言,將一長串單字加在一起就可以創造新的名詞,但新的名詞就會變得很長。導演結合停格動畫和真人表演,幽默地呈現閱讀一個很長的德文名詞時,人腦是如何運作的:腦中其他功能漸漸停止,文字彷彿具有生命,佔據了男主角的全身。本片以幽默方式對阿多諾等法蘭克福學派的德國哲學家使用的語言加以嘲諷,也探究了語言結構如何影響人類思考的方式。
The German language is very flexible: one can simply string words together in order to create new ones. And if needed, these words can become very long. Director Zora Rux blends animation and live-action in order to make a humorous account of what happens inside the brain of a man reading an extremely complex word. Gently mocking the intellectual language of the Frantfurt theorists, the film investigates how different language structures affect the way we think.
