張美蘭是個愛幻想的國小女生，她和好友阿傑約好了要一起到對面的城市找真的爸媽，他們有可能到的了嗎？美蘭的媽媽，因為不識字，晚上會到社區小學上課，但是學校的作業都沒有準時交，這次老師出的回家作業，媽媽可以順利完成嗎？飾演張美蘭的林彥禛以片中生動自然的演技，榮獲本屆台北電影獎最佳女主角。

Chang Mei-Lan is an elementary schoolgirl who doesn’t like her parents and prefers to believe she is adopted. She makes a deal with her best friend, Ah-Jie, to find their real parents in the city across the river. Will they succeed?
