導演以三年時間拍攝柏林三位30歲女性：雜誌編輯、女演員和譯者。三人來自不同種族文化背景，都面臨三十世代的問題：該堅持理想還是與現實妥協？是否該結婚？是否該生子？影片中三位主角的母親也現身說法，呈現世代間的差異。年輕的一代必須面對更複雜的社會和更多元的選擇。而在這個更加自由、資訊更多的時代，反而更容易令人迷惑。如同主角之一夢娜所說：「我們可以愛做什麼就做什麼，但我們到底想要什麼呢？」
Three women at the age of thirty in Berlin with decent working background: magazine editor, actress and translator, coming from different ethnic and cultural background, are all encountering the same problem in 30s: to stand on their own will or to compromise to the social reality? The mothers from these three heroines also speak up their own opinions in this film to present the diversity of value among generations.
