16歲少女比莉，正值青春無敵的年紀，突然被告知得搬去和父親同住。她怎麼也沒想到，自己最愛的母親竟決定變性，必須分開一年，給彼此調適的空間。原本親密的母女關係，往後只能在星期二聯絡感情。「以後要改口叫你爸爸嗎？」比莉瞇著眼，想逗母親開心。細膩的她太過清楚，母親臉上那道寬慰的笑，其實藏著多少外人無法親嚐的傷。本片攝製與劇情同步進展，於每星期二拍攝，持續一整年，非但創下難得的影史紀錄，更為這個探索改變的故事，賦予超越真實的動人情感。

這是一部關於改變的酸甜苦辣，以及面對改變的人如何自我調適的電影。如果連身邊至親的人都會改變，那麼我們對世界的看法又何嘗不會？
