本片重現戲劇性的選美比賽，只不過參賽者不是婀娜多姿的曼妙少女，而是十位已為人母的平凡女人，其中五人更來自社會中最貧窮的階層。喬治亞媽咪們明爭暗鬥、卯盡全力希望贏得冠軍，全為了獲得一座公寓與25,000美元的獎賞。然而，隨著主辦單位與嗜血媒體對參賽者悲情經歷的不斷剝削，種族、戰爭和國族的爭辯最終都成了節目笑點，究竟喬治亞媽媽們的夢想是否得以實現？還是終歸幻滅為一場現實且無情的鬧劇？本片代表喬治亞角逐美國奧斯卡最佳外語片。

The film tells about the dramatic events developed at the beauty contest of mothers of many children. Five of the contestants belong to the poorest social layer, try hard to win the main prize of which is an apartment and 25,000 USD. The film starts with great hopes. However, gradually the mothers realize that not everything that glitters is gold and the competition is a complete farce. The promising dream thus turns into a severe monster.
