一位來自美國阿拉巴馬州的白人男孩，成為西班牙佛朗明哥吉他演奏者，並和五位不同國家的女性養育了五個孩子（其中一位是導演本人），這曲折的人生如何成形？從美國到印度、西班牙、加拿大，直到以色列，導演以10年的紀錄，讓觀眾細品引人入勝的佛朗明哥舞蹈與樂音，更透過鏡頭透視這群女性與父親的愛情，跟父親進行親情角力，直探愛、世代、包容等充滿矛盾的問題。
When a blond-Californian (with Alabama roots) becomes a Spanish Flamenco guitarist in Andalucian boots, what happens along the way and behind the scenes? Gypsy Davy tells the story of David Jones, stage name “David Serva”, from the perspective of his five women and five children—one of whom is the director. Shot over a ten-year period in five countries across three continents, the film is a personal and political portrait of a man, a family, a generation.
